It's teatime - my totally favourite time of day

The Quilt Block Mania Block challenge for April is Tea Time. To my mind, there is no better theme. Coffee is, of course, essential for life, but any time is tea time. To celebrate, I am sharing a pot of tea. My teapot is inspired by Clarice Cliff, an English ceramic artist who I love for her Art Deco ceramics in brilliant colours and wonderful geometric shapes.

It’s a nice beginner friendly applique pattern with only 7 pieces of which four are circles. I’ve chosen to make it with a freezer paper method and mock hand applique on the machine. It would also be fine with needle turn or raw edge applique, whatever you prefer.

The pattern contains the placement diagram for the pattern and the applique templates for the freezer paper method (reversed and without seam allowances). I’ve also included templates with the seam allowance added which are not reversed. These are suitable for needle turn. Remember if templates are reversed, fabric is wrong side up. If templates are not reversed, fabric is right side up.

I hope you enjoy all the fun blocks from the different designers - cakes, cake plates, cups, …. everything you need for a superb high tea, and best of all, completely non fattening. Click on the links below and they will take you to each blog.
